Gilbert A care guide

Words before decisions.

Find care

A room visit or a remote visit?

Compare a visit in person with a visit from home. Ask who checks your health, answers questions and sees you again after the first visit.

Compare the visit process.

For either kind of visit, ask who checks your health and answers later questions.

In-person care

The visit takes place in a room with the clinician. Ask what to bring and what the assessment includes.

Ask where tests and later visits happen. Ask who answers medicine questions between visits.

Before choosing, ask for the health professional’s full name and the pharmacy name. Ask for a written price list with each charge shown separately.

Remote care

The exchange takes place through remote communication. Ask whether it is live video or a reply after you send information.

Ask how further questions are handled. Ask what happens if the assessment needs a room visit or local test.

Before choosing, ask how the person has permission to treat you in Arizona. Ask for the pharmacy name and a written price list with each charge shown separately.

Start with the same information.

Write down the reason for the visit, current medicines and the main question you want answered. Bring an offer or label if that is what prompted the visit.

Ask how to send records, who reads them and how the clinician decides whether more information is needed. Keep a copy of the plan in words you understand.

What does Arizona require for the assessment?

Arizona makes the health professional carefully assess whether remote care can meet the patient’s needs, as of October 3, 2026.

That decision includes whether the person needs to be seen or treated in a room.

It also includes their symptoms, health history, age, location and ability to get care.

Ask: “What would make a room visit necessary for this question?”

The record behind the answer.
